Malaysia finance ministry official set to be new central bank governor


Wall Street Journal reports that an official from the finance minister of Malaysia, Abdullah Serigar Irwan, is set to be appointed as the new governor of the central bank to replacement to Zeti Aziz Akharar was governador 16 years.
A minister’s in office said there is not comments on speculation.
Market participants were afraid of the political interference of Najib Razak.
Zeti is  respected and credited for pushing reforms and sound policies.
 Mohd Irwan A civil servant  is in now the treasury secretary general at the finance ministry, which is headed by Najib. He is also a member of the board of advisers for 1MDB.
